Sweet Sketch Wednesday 52 - Kindred Spirits

It's been a busy week and weekend, but I managed to squeeze a card in... I made this card for a couple getting married on the 19th of June. Unfortunately my hubby and I will be away and are not able to attend the wedding :( They are not the "love bird and flowers" type of people, so I opted to go a little "dark" for their card. I know that they will appreciate it, being untraditional as they are!

I used Sweet Sketch Wednesday #52 and the image is from Tiddly Inks called The Happy Couple.

Thanks for taking a peek, now I have to get busy on my Dad's Father's Day card!

Happy Sunday!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday 51- LET'S GO FLYERS!!!

I live in a Philly Suburb, so of course, I am sporting orange today, as is everyone I have seen so far this morning in my area. Why do you ask?? In honor of the first game of the Flyers in their quest for the CUP!!! I am heading to my uncle's house today for a dual purpose party, Memorial Day and the Flyers! They are die hard, and I mean DIE HARD fans. I just had to make a card to bring over with me. I hope that they get a kick out of it!

I used the image Hockey Beary by Prairie Fairy Designs. I also used Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge #51.

I made the little pennant out of plain 'ole white cardstock, using a font in Microsoft Word. Then inked it up a bit and glued it to a toothpick. I hand drew the little puck on the image as well.

I hope that everyone has fun today, in whatever you may be doing!

Thanks for taking a peek and LET'S GO FLYERS!!!!!!!!!!!

Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge #47

Happy Friday!

I hope that everyone is gearing up for a fun Memorial Day weekend! (for those of us in the states)

I made this card for the Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge #47. Melissa thanks for another great one!

I used an image from Meljen's Designs called a Girl and Her Kitty. I ran the background thru my Big Shot using the Texture Plate Dot Daisies and then sponged it with SU! So Saffron to make the dots pop out a bit. Again, I don't think it came up in the photo that well.

I colored her with my copics and then did a little background color with my Prisma pencil.

I'm off to start some errands (hubby is buying me my birthday present today) Woohoo! It's a bit early but he wants me to have time to play with it this weekend. I think I'll keep him ;)

Thanks for swinging by!

Michelle

Stamp: Meljen's Designs

Embrace Happiness- Mo's Digital Challenge #32

You had to create a card that portrayed any type of love. I chose the image Buds.. This has to be one of the sweetest images I have ever seen! It reminds me so much of my sister's dog Buddy!

I used an older sketch by The Sweet Stop SSS53. Korin really has some outstanding sketches on her challenge blog!

I colored the image in with my Copics and then used my Prisma Pencils for the shadowing underneath the dog. Note to self... see what the color looks like BEFORE you add it directly to the image! I am really disappointed with how that looks and have tried really hard to correct it, to no avail :(

I hope that everyone has a wonderful Sunday! The weather is not great here, but that means more stamping time!

Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog!

Michelle

Celebrate - A double challenge!

Happy Friday everyone!

Hope that everyone is getting ready for a good weekend! The weather is as promised here... sunny and warm! I also lucked out on the yard work for today too ;) My hubby finished right before I returned home from my sister's house.. hehe

My uncle's birthday is coming up in a few weeks and I always struggle with masculine cards. So when I saw the new release from Meljen's Designs called A Dog's Day and the Challenge #8 Seeing Spots. I felt inspired by the image called Chili Chihuahua! He loves Mexican food and Sangria.. How perfect!

I also combined it with the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge #50.

I printed out a few copies of the image and then hand cut peppers for the side and a set to raise on the image itself. Not sure if it showed that well in the pic, as usual :(

I hope that you all have a great weekend!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Hello Friend - Tuesday Morning Sketch #46

Hi everyone!

I hope that everyone had a great week so far! The weather is beautiful today and it should be just as great for the weekend. Woohoo! I hope that all of your local forecasts are just as nice!

This is a card that I made for the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge #46. No sketch this week, you were to use your Favorite Color Combo and Glitter. I have several color combos that I love, but I tend to always lean towards Su! Rose Red and the R85 Copic Marker combo, so I chose that for the challenge.

This card is made using the SCS Sketch #SC281 and the image is from a new digi stamp site that I fell in love with called Pollycraft. She is from the Felicity and Friends line and is called

Felicity - Home Girl. Isn't she adorable?

Ok, so now I am sure you are asking yourself, where's the glitter? It didn't come up in the photo! I used My Mind's Eye Glitter Book paper and her headband, pockets and green stripe on her jeans are colored with the Copic Spica Pens in the coordinating color. Trust me it's there! ;)

Thanks as always for taking a peek, I appreciate it!

Michelle

I used the Sweet Sketch Wednesday #49. Another wonderful sketch by Arlana!

This image is by Mo Manning at Mo's Digital Pencil. She is Soccer Girl.

Thinking of You

I just wanted to post this quickly before I headed off to work this morning...

This is the card that I made for my Featured Stamper spot on Tuesday Morning Sketches which will be on Melissa's blog today along with the actual sketch for this card.

Thanks so much to Melissa and her DT for selecting my card, I am honored!!!

This is another digital image from Mo's Digital Pencil, it is called End of Summer.

I colored her with my copics and then shadowed the background with my Prisma pencils and OMS.

The button wrapping on the side was done after I watched a tutorial by Michele Boyer at Paper Cuts found here. I also distressed the edges of the dp to give it a "country" feel.

I hope that you all have a great day!

Card Patterns Sketch #62

I hope that everyone is having a great weekend. The Communion was beautiful yesterday and my niece and whole family had a wonderful time celebrating!

I managed to squeeze in some time to participate in yet another blog challenge. I can't help myself!

This one is from the Card Patterns Weekly Sketch Blog and is Sketch #62.

This is my first circular card! I have to say, it was fun!!! The two brads on the edge are to hold the card together, I really didn't know how else to do that, if anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them!

I cut the scallaped circles out with my new Cricut cartridge Forvever Young, this cartridge rocks! There are so many possibilities!

I also used a new stamp line that I have been dying to get my hands on! It is a Gorjuss Girl/Sugar Nellie stamp bought from Funky Kits in the UK.

First Holy Communion

TGIF!!

Just wanted to do a quick post before running off.

Tomorrow is my niece Dana's First Holy Communion. This is the card that I made for her.

I really struggled with this one. It is really hard to do a card that is basically all white! Even the image! So I made up for color, by using texture to jazz it up a bit. This card was made using the Splitcoast Sketch # 276. If you look real close you can see the little pearls I added to her veil using Liquid Pearls.

The image is from Karen's Doodles. This is her Holy Communion set, which is perfect for me because it came with another little girl and a little boy that I can use for my niece Gianna's and my nephew Cole's Communions in the coming years!

I hope that you all have a great weekend, I hope to be back with something on Sunday.

As always, thanks for taking the time to look at my posts!

Dare to be Different

It's Tuesday and you know what that means... it's time for another Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge!! This one is Sketch #43 .

Another great sketch, thanks Melissa!
Just a note... Next Tuesday I will be the featured stamper on the Tuesday Morning Sketches Blog, I am very excited and so please, if you get a chance, check it out...

The ribbon was shredded on purpose, thought it made it look more "gothy" ;)
I just kept on thinking of the video, Love is a Battlefield by Pat Benatar. Now you know I am sooooo showing my age!

I glittered her hair, but unfortunately it didn't come up in the photo :( I also ran the Core'dinations paper through my Cuttlebug and sanded it up a bit, again, just to give it a ragged look.

Ok, onto the basics

Mo's Challenge #28

It's been a few days since my last post. My hubby and I were in Cape May, NJ for the past three days. What a wonderful time!!! I took my first horse and carriage ride!! The driver, Lauren, was so informative about the history of the houses it was incredible!

So, we returned today and I was itching to color. I just had to do Mo's Challenge #28, the challenge was 1 ribbon, 2 brads or buttons and 3 designer papers. This is a card I made for my sister for Mother's Day, I know... not your tradition card. I was inspired by her daugher, my niece Gianna, who ADORES her baby dolls.

I used a sketch by Friday Sketchers #99. Oh and go figure, I colored this cutie with my Copics.

Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge #41

I made this card for the Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge #41. I LOVE these challenges. I am getting a wee bit addicted to all of the blog challenges out there!

This challenge did not have a sketch, the challenge was to use Soft Hues, Flowers and Ribbon. I use flowers and ribbon a LOT however, soft hues is not my norm. This is what I came up with.

The stamp is from Mo's Digital Pencil, she is Baby Fairy Flora. Another beatiful image from Mo Manning.
This little cutie was colored in with my copics and I double layered her wings to give her a wee bit of dimension.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by!

So I found this Cosmo Cricket paper buried that I bought I think around two years ago! I also found the ribbon purchased about the same time! I should participate in all challenges using old stuff, maybe then some of my stash would go down :)

I used a sketch from Card Patterns, you can find it here.

This is my first experience with Digi Stamps and I am so diggin' them. Talk about instant gratification! This stamp is part of the Cake Girls from The Greeting Farm. Her name is Twisted Tea. So Tim Burtonesque!

Again, she was colored with my Copics, my favorite items in my craft nook! I used some Stickles on the cupcake cherries, but it didn't show up in the pic. :(

Thanks for stopping by!

You're My Cup of Tea!

Hi everyone,

It has been a very busy week, but managed to squeeze one card in! This stamp is from... you guessed it... Kraftin' Kimmie!

Her dress is actually a very light pink, not sure that it came through in the pic. I colored her with my copics, big surprise huh?

The rain has moved in and it is supposed to be a yucky weekend weather-wise.

I hope that it is dry and sunny in your neck of the woods!

I colored her with my copics, as usual ;) I have to give credit to my hubby, he suggested that I put a flower in her hair... hmmm. maybe he should get his own blog!

Thanks for looking!

Mad About you

Yesterday's Kraftin Kimmie Challenge #19 was to use buttons and bows. I inked up Posy a few days ago and she was just sitting on my desk. I figured she would be great for the challenge!

Gimme that Booty!

Oh boy, this post sounds like a personal ad, lol! It is just a saying from the new Kimmie's Pirate Sentiments. I am in LOVE with these new pirate stamps from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps! I will be boring you to pieces with them I'm afraid. They are too much fun!

She is Polly the Bar Wench, she is my favorite!

As usual I colored her with my copics and I made the flower after I found a really cool tutorial on the Cosmo Cricket blog this morning.

I hope that everyone is having a good Friday!

Thanks for looking :)

You're Stuck With Me

Well, I am sitting here waiting for MORE snow to come. I guess the few feet that was dumped on us in the past few weeks was not enough!

In the meantime while I am waiting for the flakes to fall, I thought that I would post a card.

This is Drucilla from Kraftin Kimmie Stamps isn't she just the cutest?? I love the look on her face. Like she is saying, "Go ahead and dare me!" This is a card was made using a sketch from a challenge on Kraftin' Kimmie's Blog. I colored her with my copics and you really can't see it in the picture, but I added Liquid Pearls to the tips of the pins that the poor doll is stuck with!

Paper: Basic Grey; Sugarush and Papertrey Ink CS; Scarlet Jewel

Wow, Can't believe that I am blogging again!

Hi Everyone,

Well, I hope that I still have a couple of viewers left! It has been a long couple of years since I last posted. To be honest the blogging thing started to consume me. Then I had a few personal obstacles, those who know me personally know what I am talking about. So, here I am 2 years later. Haven't done much paper-crafting in the past 4 months. Kinda lost my mojo. Made a few cards, and then this weekend I wanted to make a card for my SIL's birthday. She is really into fairies, I have had this stamp for about a year and it has never seen ink. I don't remember who's it is, or where I bought it and I apologize to whoever should get credit for it. It is a BEAUTIFUL stamp. Anyhoo, not to bore you but I just felt like jumping back into the blogging pool. So here I am, I hope that everyone is having a great Sunday!
